Bessie Coleman Centennial Community Celebration and Aviation Conversation

Powered by Gilchrist Aviation Law, Atlantic Aviation (PWA), READY3, Jones Strategies, and the Oklahoma Aerospace Foundation, join the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics, the Oklahoma Historical Society and Oklahoma History Center, Langston University, and Senator Nikki Nice of Senate District 48, all Langston alumni and the general public are invited to come together for an engaging in-person community meet and greet, followed by a captivating informational presentation.

This event is part of the State of Oklahoma's Bessie Coleman Centennial Week, a celebration dedicated to the extraordinary contributions of aviation pioneer Bessie Coleman. This is your rare opportunity to meet Gigi Coleman-Brooms, Bessie Coleman’s great-niece, who will share heartfelt and inspiring stories about her iconic ancestor—a proud alumna of Langston University, Bessie Coleman was a trailblazer who became the first African-American woman and the first Native American to earn a pilot's license.
