Join us for a hands-on exploration of two important native plants: Saskatoon berry and Red-Osier Dogwood. Discover how these plants support people, birds, pollinators, and the wider ecosystem and how we can incorporate them into urban habitat restoration.
In this workshop, participants will:
* Learn to identify Saskatoon berry and Red-Osier Dogwood.
* Explore their traditional and contemporary uses.
* Learn how Saskatoon berries can be harvested and enjoyed.
* Discover how Red-Osier Dogwood provides food and shelter for wildlife.
* Learn how to propagate and care for these native plants.
* Explore their role in creating habitat and supporting biodiversity.
* Take part in a hands-on activity using materials from the orchard.
