About this Event
Whitecliffe University of Applied Sciences opens its Berlin campus for Berlin Design Week 2026.
From 28 to 31 May 2026, visitors are invited to explore three student and faculty-led projects that bring together architecture, communication design, graphic design, interior design, research, material experimentation, and speculative thinking.
The programme presents design as a way to question the present, imagine alternative futures, and make complex ideas visible through space, objects, systems, and interaction.
Visitors can experience:
• 2051 (Everything Turned Out Rather Well)
A speculative design exhibition developed by students from the Interdisciplinary Design Project. The work uses backcasting to imagine hopeful future scenarios for Berlin and asks how design can support better systems of care, solidarity, and urban life.
• Whitecliffe in Perspective
A façade installation by Prof. Javier Martín and Daniel Martín. The project uses anamorphic principles, digital modelling, material experimentation, and real-scale prototyping to explore perception, orientation, and spatial communication.
• Let the Play Begin – Communication Design in Games
A collaboration between Whitecliffe University of Applied Sciences and the Turkish toy manufacturer Play-Toys. International graphic design students developed game and packaging prototypes that explore topics such as emotion regulation, climate change, body dysmorphia, women’s rights, and understanding nature.
Across the three projects, students and professors engage with real-world questions through creative experimentation. The campus becomes a place where design is tested, discussed, and experienced in direct relation to the city.
The event is open to design professionals, students, prospective students, academic partners, and the wider public.
Entry is free.
