Lucy, daughter of Jackie Marrow was born with a heart defect. Complete AV canal defect, double outlet right ventricle, interrupted inferior vena cava, and heterotaxy syndrome. At a year old, she underwent her first open heart surgery. November 27th she underwent her second surgery which took over 13 hours. This time they did a biventricular repair. They took down what was completed before and patched, tunneled, rerouted to make it as much of a normal heart as possible.
They are unsure of when Lucy will get to return from Boston. She was taken off the breathing tube and they are trying to wean her off meds but things are progressing slower than they hoped. Lucy and her family have a long road to recovery ahead.
