Chautauqua County Sheriff's Correction Officer Brett Freligh received confirmation 3 weeks ago that not only did he have a tumor on his spine but his Clear Cell Sarcoma had returned after 8 years in remission. He went through a week of radiation therapy and then lost all feeling and strength in his lower extremities. He has spent the last 3 weeks in the ICU at Buffalo General where he has had numerous tests done. The tests showed that he has had a few mini-strokes now as well. Officer Freligh will have to navigate using a wheelchair and his cancer treatments are on hold until they know what has caused him to lose feeling in his legs.
Brett Freligh has a wife (high school sweetheart) at home, 2 children, and a first grandchild on the way.
