Alex and I are putting on a benefit concert for Logan, Kacey, and Sofie Sonethongkham!🎶🍼We invite you to join us for a special evening of music, coffee, tea, and yummy desserts to support a precious little girl and the incredible family that has walked a long road with faith, strength, and love.🎶🍼
Sofie was born at just 28 weeks and 5 days, weighing only 1 lb 14 oz and measuring around 14 inches long. Her early arrival came by emergency C-section due to pre-eclampsia and a placental growth restriction. What followed was a 7-month stay in the NICU, filled with more trials than most of us will ever face.
During her time in the hospital, Sofie underwent heart surgery to close her PDA, battled chronic lung disease of prematurity, meningitis, and needed laser eye surgery for retinopathy of prematurity. She spent around three months intubated, nearly six months on oxygen, and came home on a feeding pump. She also coded multiple times during her stay — moments where her tiny body stopped and needed life-saving measures.
But through it all, God was there.
In the darkest hours, His hand was steady. In the scariest moments, His presence brought peace. Sofie’s life is a testimony of God’s healing power, her strength a reflection of the prayers that surrounded her.
Today, by the grace of God, Sofie is thriving. She’s catching up on her milestones, bringing joy and light wherever she goes. Her journey isn’t over, and her family still faces the heavy burden of the medical debt left behind from her long and complex NICU stay.
