Opening 25 January 2025 to 22 March 2025Benaiah Matheson presents Town Island, an exhibition which unites Carriacou with Huddersfield, intertwining two narratives of
intimately connected communities.
Town Island was first exhibited in 2024 at the prestigious Venice Biennale, working in partnership with Yorkshire Contemporary (Project Space Leeds).
It will be showing at The Bath House Gallery, as a new collaborative project with the University of Huddersfield,
Huddersfield Art Gallery, and Yorkshire Contemporary.
This second iteration will bring new interpretations, exploring how the themes of participation, identity and belonging connect to wellbeing, as part of the University’s Cultures of Creative Health programme. https://research.hud.ac.uk/institutes-centres/ceada/our-projects/
