For one spectacular night, Ben Shelley and friends take to The Bird, promising thrilling and prodigious original jazz! Ben has spent the last 12 months studying music in the United States, taking in the magic of New England and learning from Grammy winners, Jazz Messengers, and the torch-bearers of New York jazz. This is a rare opportunity to catch an artist in transition before he returns to the States for another year. Ben is joined by some of Perth's finest and supported by Zoe Boyd (quintet). Be there!

Zoe Boyd is an emerging trumpet player in the Perth scene, appearing with acts including WAYJO, the Artemis Orchestra, the Firebug Big Band, and the WA Jazz Project. Since graduating from WAAPA, she has been focusing on composing original music, as well as advocating for a diverse and welcoming jazz community.
