Come celebrate the turning of the seasons with us at this year’s Bealtaine (or Beltane in English) event! Bealtaine is an ancient festival celebrated throughout the British Isles(and much of Europe) that marks the return of summer and fertility in the land. We are taking this Bealtaine as an opportunity to give thanks to the Poudre Valley watershed that sustains life in this region and also to begin rooting culture whose celebration’s are in tune with place. If you are a poet or musician please bring some words or songs to share for the “Songs and Poems” to the land open mic. Please try to keep your chosen piece under 5 minutes so that everyone can have an opportunity to share. Share a piece inspired by the land around Fort Collins or a piece specifically written TO the land here.
Things to bring:
If you are a cook, bring food to share! Spring foods, wild foods, and thematic meals appreciated.
If you are a flower grower, bring flowers for flower crowns or decoration
If you are a musician, poet, storyteller (which we all are!) ,
Bring a short piece under 5 minutes for the Songs and Poems to the land open mic. This is an opportunity to bring a piece FOR the land as an offering of human beauty. Keep in mind that pieces do not need to be "good", but should be meaningful. Bring something you think the land here might enjoy hearing.
