Are you looking for a fun and healthy way to add exercise and joy to your week? Join us for biweekly belly dance classes at Central Library! We will learn basic belly dance moves, followed by a short minute of beginner-friendly choreography. No specific clothing is required, but comfortable shoes are encouraged. A release form will need to be signed upon entry.
SLPL acknowledges that belly dancing has deep connections to many cultures’ spirituality and/or cultural heritage. Secular in nature, the purpose of this program is to inform, educate, and celebrate diverse cultures. Staff approach any programming with cultural humility and take appropriate steps to educate themselves before offering programming highlighting aspects from a culture outside of their own, to ensure they're representing other cultures accurately and respectfully.
