Bellydance Workshop - Driftwood: A Drum Solo Journey

Join Karma Bellydance as we host our 2025 workshop, featuring Michigan local Heather Marie!

What: Part 1- Heather's signature style technique, Part 2 - choreography, then snacks and socializing afterwards 3:30-4:30pm

Created by Heather Marie and partner, Ryan Gates, Driftwood is a dynamic drum solo that blends traditional elements with Heather’s signature Liquid Fusion stylizations.

In this two-part workshop, in part 1 you’ll break down the crisp technique and intricate rhythms of Driftwood, then in part 2 bring the entire dance together in a stunning choreography.

From juicy isolations to bold accents, Driftwood is your chance to shine with a rhythm-packed, audience-wowing piece!

Schedule

10:30-11:00am. - check- in

11:00am-1:00pm - part 1: technique

1:00-1:30pm - break (rehydrate and re-energize!)

1:30-3:30pm - part 2: choreography

3:30-4:30pm - snacks and socializing* (karma will provide some snacks, you bring the social !)

Location Information

How to find Mystic Phoenix studio

It is located in a building with multiple addresses. The building is pushed back from the road and can be hard to see at first. There is an adorable coffee shop that is easy to spot while driving called That Coffee Place - 5360 E Michigan 36, Pinckney, MI 48169 - it's open 7am-2pm ;)

When I use my GPS, I use That Coffee Place as the location and have had success, it comes up fast in the drive just as a warning!
