Put on your Easter Sunday Best and be a part of the first Bellefonte Easter (Day) Parade -- a Victorian tradition.
In Victorian England, Easter parades, starting in the mid-1800s, evolved from post-church strolls showcasing spring finery, especially fancy bonnets, into a social spectacle, particularly in New York City's Fifth Avenue.
So, why not Bellefonte!
Our Bellefonte Easter Parade is a joint project of the Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association and Helen Foxx & Co. It will be held on Easter Sunday afternoon, starting at Helen Foxx & Co., progressing along the Allegheny Street sidewalk to the northern branch of East High Street and then along the High Street sidewalk, and finally passing in front of the Centre County Courthouse.
The goal of the parade is to celebrate Easter by dressing up, having fun, and helping provide food for those who need it.

Mind the details to register, check in, food drop off, parade procession, reception and JUDGING.
That's right, you could win a CASH PRIZE of $50.
You can compete in one of four categories:
• student (high school or younger),
• single adult,
• couple,
• and family (three or more people).
Our judges will evaluate the marchers as they pass by the front of the Courthouse. The judges’ scores will be added together for each competitor. An extra point will be added for those who make a monetary or food donation to the Faith Centre Food Bank when they sign in before the beginning of the parade.
Stick around while the judges are adding up the scores to pick the winners. No matter what, you will already be a winner because you have had some fun and helped make Bellefonte a more interesting place.
One of the biggest Easter parades takes place in New York City, where it has been part of the spring tradition for more than 100 years. WE CAN DO BETTER!
