As part of the Christchurch Heritage Festival 16-26 October 2026, we are opening our Belfast District Museum from 12 p.m to 3 p.m. on Sunday 25 October 2026.
Our little museum is brimming with stories from a community who cares for its district and its people dating back to early european settlement in 1851.
The Belfast Area Residents Association are dedicated to continuing to build our online history page featuring "Belfast - a walk through time" and information about the pre-european Maori settlers in the area, plus lots more, all found on our website https://www.belfastresidents.org.nz/history-of-belfast
