Leicestershire was traditionally labelled a county of 'spires and squires', for church spires were a landmark feature of the shire. In this interactive online talk, we will look at the history, landscape, architecture and above all stories behind the church spires of Leicestershire. We will discuss why and how they were such important landmarks, from the middle ages to the present day.
