• Would you like to develop your attunement to clients and students whose nervous systems are highly sensitive and deeply empathic?
• Would you like to learn how to recognise and support Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) and Empaths in your professional practice?
• Would you like to explore therapeutic tools and micro-attunements that nurture safety, self-regulation and expression for HSP clients?
• Would you like to understand the possible overlap between HSP traits and the autistic phenotype within a trauma-informed framework?
“Sensitive souls are the world’s barometers of truth and compassion.” – adapted from Judith Orloff
“Sensitivity is not weakness; it is depth of processing.” – Elaine N. Aron"

Aimed For:
Multi-disciplinary practitioners who wish to refine their capacity to work with Highly Sensitive People and Empaths through an experiential, expressive and trauma-informed lens. Professionals may include psychotherapists, family therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors, guidance teachers, educators, expressive arts therapists, social workers, managers, child and youth care workers, support workers and holistic well-being practitioners.
Practitioners who wish to cultivate multi-sensory, body-based attunement to those we serve.
The workshop is experiential and supports both personal and professional growth.

We will explore:
• Definition of Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) and Empaths – their resources and challenges.
• Recognising Sensitivity – traits, patterns, and presentation in therapy, education and team contexts.
• Attuning to the Therapeutic Needs of HSPs – creating safety through pacing, resonance, and regulation.
• Practising HSP-Friendly Tools – somatic and expressive arts, multi-sensory interventions, breath and movement sequences, “brain training” techniques.
• These multi-sensory interventions are contextualised within a trauma-informed, integrative, meaning-making model.
• Discussing Overlap with the Autistic Phenotype – differentiating traits while honouring shared sensitivity and neurodivergence.
• Integrating Research and Practice – drawing from research and the clinical experience of practitioners who specialise in this area.

A Personal Reflection:
Do you find yourself being “triggered” by particular sounds, smells, or facial expressions?
Do you notice subtle details that often go unseen by others, and when you point them out, people sometimes label you as “too sensitive”?
Perhaps you experience moments of sensory overwhelm and crave time alone or in nature to reset your nervous system. Maybe you’ve found it difficult to feel at ease in environments that others describe as “fine.”
If so, you are not alone.
I am one of these highly sensitive people.
Over the years, as I have worked on myself, I’ve learned to approach my sensitivity with curiosity and compassion — to understand what helps me regulate my emotions and restore balance to my nervous system. The journey continues, and I invite you to join me in exploring this theme.
Should you identify as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), this workshop offers an opportunity to deepen your insider understanding of how to support people like ourselves, and to help others — partners, families, colleagues — make sense of this way of being.
