Behold Photo Challenge

The Behold Photo Challenge is a 30 day photography challenge where participants will be taking one photo a day, based on a daily topic. This challenge is open to everyone, all ages, whether you are an experienced photographer or you have never taken photos before. We encourage people to join our challenge and admire God’s creation through photography. This is a community event, where members of our church family, friends, and neighbors can come together. At the end of the 30 days, we’ll be gathering for an exhibition night to celebrate the beauty in God’s creation.

Photos will be submitted and details will be on our website, behold.ushost.org. After signing up here on eventbrite, you will have access to the behold participant page where you will have access to each day’s topic and photo uploads.

In the Sermon on the Mount, when His friends were anxious about food and clothing and tomorrow, Jesus pointed them to the sky:

"Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them… Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these." - Matthew 6:26–29 (NASB)

Look and Observe, two imperatives. Christ trains our anxious hearts by pointing them toward what the Father has already made and is already feeding. The cure for worry, in His teaching, begins with looking closely at that which we might take for granted.

We encourage everyone to print and display a favorite photo that you took. Please print no larger than 12”x18”. You may mount your photo on a foam core board and you may laminate it as well if you wish. Please include an index card with your name and caption that will be displayed below your print during the exhibition. Our hope is that each of these prints will find a home to be displayed in after the event.

All prints must be turned in at First Baptist Church of Norwalk at the given date. No prints will be accepted after this date. If you need to turn in your print earlier, please email [email protected] to make arrangements.
Only photos that fit the challenge guidelines (modest, kind, and appropriate for our host) will be accepted.
