*Advance registration required* Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at the Jacksonville Humane Society? Join us for a guided tour before we open to the public in which you'll learn about our mission and how YOU can get involved! After a brief orientation to JHS, we'll explore our Adoption Center and Pet Help Center and also get a rare look at areas typically closed to visitors, like our hospital. This unique experience will offer an inside view of how we provide compassionate care to nearly 9,000 animals every year and work to make a difference in the lives of both pets and people in our community.
This walking tour will be about 90 minutes and will take you around our 50,000 square foot facility, located on 12 acres of land at our Beach Blvd. location. There are parts of the tour that will be outside on uneven terrain. With that said, these tours will go on rain or shine and start precisely at 11:00 a.m.
Children* under the age of 18 are allowed but must be accompanied by an adult and must be registered separately. There are a limited number of children's spots available.
For those with peanut allergies, peanut butter and other peanut products are present throughout the premises.
*Please note: due to the areas we will be touring, strollers are not permitted and some parts of the tour are not recommended for young children.
