During the Behind-The-Scenes tour Alena Rensch, AMH Registrar, will demonstrate how the Museum collects, catalogs, preserves, studies, cares for, and displays archival collections.
The goal of this program is to demonstrate to visitors how historically important objects reach the Museum and how they are evaluated, prepared for display or stored. By the end, you'll understand how these processes are central to the Museum's mission and receive tips on taking care of your own historic family treasures.
You'll also get a chance to view some of the many artifacts in our collections NOT CURRENTLY ON DISPLAY!
ELIGIBILITY: Guests must be aged 8 or older to participate, and children must be accompanied by an adult. Each tour is limited to 15 guests.
DATES: September 7, 14 & 21, 2024
TIMES: 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM
DURATION: This tour lasts 45 minutes plus time for Q&A.
PRICING: Free with Museum Admission
$5 for Adults, $4 for Seniors, $3 for Children, and Free for Children under Age 5 and Museum Members.
