Join us for the Behind the Pine Curtain Film Festival VIP Reception and Dinner on Friday, December 18, 2026, from 6-9 p.m. at Abrams Downtown Event Center, in Lufkin’s revitalized South First Street district.
The evening begins with cocktail hour from 6-7 p.m., featuring the sounds of Shades of Blue Jazz band. Meet our panelists and special guests, film industry professionals from across the country and enjoy an evening of music, food, and conversation.
ACM award-winning songwriter D. Vincent Williams will give a special performance of the song he penned specifically for our festival. Celebrity Chef Dennis Hicks will serve a spectacular dinner and share stories from his 30-year culinary career, including cooking for admirals and presidents. We’ll also hear brief remarks from honored guest SFA All-American Cedrick Walker, professional football player and coach, ahead of his full address on Saturday.
Our master of ceremonies, Steve Rixx of Red Dirt Radio, KJCS 103.3, will guide us through the evening. You’ll get a preview of Saturday’s fun-filled, educational program, featuring panel discussions and industry insights to inspire the next generation of filmmakers.
