The Stories We Carry is an intimate community conversation exploring the power of family storytelling and the role it plays in shaping our identities, preserving our history, and strengthening our communities.

Join us at The Black Palette Art Gallery for a special live recording of Behind the Lore as Lore Storytelling owner Te'Jal Cartwright sits down with beloved community elder Mama Nozipo. Together, they'll explore Mama Nozipo's personal journey, the stories that have been passed down through her family, and why preserving those stories is one of the most meaningful gifts we can leave future generations.

Whether you're reflecting on your own family's traditions, wondering which stories deserve to be remembered, or simply looking for an evening of thoughtful conversation, you'll leave inspired to ask more questions, listen more deeply, and help keep your family's legacy alive.

Following the conversation, guests will have the opportunity to connect with one another and reflect on the stories they carry in one of Dayton's most vibrant spaces celebrating Black art and culture.
