Born Sibusiso Mhlongo, DJ Merlon's journey into music began as a passion that steadily grew into a full-blown career, positioning him as a global ambassador of South African house music.

DJ Merlon first captured widespread attention with his smash hit “Koze Kuse,” a collaboration with Mondli Ngcobo. Released in 2014, the song became an instant anthem in South African nightlife, dominating airwaves and earning multiple awards. The success of this record propelled him into the spotlight, solidifying his reputation as a master of creating tracks that resonate with both local and international audiences. Recently DJ Merlon has dropped a number of hit songs including TWO ZULU MEN IN IBIZA, LAVITATE and BROCODE with Enoo Napa

Having worked behind the scenes as a producer and artist manager prior to his rise as a DJ, Merlon is no stranger to the complexities of the music industry. His experience in artist development and music production gives him a unique edge, allowing him to understand the creative and business aspects of his craft. His contributions to the genre extend beyond just making music—he is also a curator of Afro-house culture, often collaborating with top African artists like Black Coffee, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Enoo Napa, Toshi and more, to bring an authentic sound to global audiences.

DJ Merlon’s deep-rooted passion for Afro-house goes beyond his own artistry. He has consistently used his platform to uplift emerging talent, helping to nurture and shape the next generation of African house music producers and DJs. Through his record label Greyman Entertainment he has provided a space for new artists to flourish, thereby contributing to the growth and evolution of Afro-house music.
