Behind Closed Doors; the Underground Sacred Music of the 17th Century

Enter the church by candlelight, collect a complimentary glass of wine and find a seat. Let the music of Elizabethan England surround you as you are taken through a selection of Tudor motets and Byrd's Mass for 3 voices.

The audience will be sat around a central circle of 9 singers, allowing you to feel intimately close and involved with the music - the only light available being the candles surrounding you. Come and enjoy a moment of peace, serenity and sanctity while the glory of the polyphonic writing of the Catholic church during this turbulent time in English history surrounds you.
