Instructor: Len Cockman
Tuition: $210 plus Materials ($50), Total: $260
Classes: Starts August 31st and concludes October 26th
8 consecutive Mondays 6:30-8:30 pm.
Course Length: (8) 2-hour studio sessions
Materials Provided: The supply fee includes one 25 lb. bag of clay and use of Fire Arts food-safe glazes for your work. Pieces that will be Raku-fired on the last night of the class will use a clear glaze specifically for that firing process. If needed, additional clay will be available for purchase.
Student Enrollment: 7 students maximum
Format: We will be working with wet clay on the potter’s wheel for the first six classes. During Session 7, we will decorate bisque-fired forms and load the kiln for the first of several firings. During Session 8, we will get the raku kiln firing, and while that kiln temperature is rising to the proper level, we will glaze the last of the functional pieces.
Studio Space: Students enrolled in this class are eligible to partake in one additional open studio session (instructor not present) per week during the span of the eight-week workshop. This works out to be 8 instructor-led sessions and 8 open studio sessions. The Open Studio sessions coincide with our regular business hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays-noon to 9 pm; Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays- noon to 5 pm.

Session 8: Monday, October 26th – Raku Night, and wrap up anything not yet glazed.
