The welding student will start with the basics of the welding process. Safety, types of rods, and usage will be discussed. The student will learn different joint configurations and positions. The student will learn to weld with 60 and 70 series rods on various thickness of plate. Based on the student’s progress and experience, the student will learn plate SMAW (stick) welding techniques and move to SMAW pipe welding. After completing and mastering the different stick types, the student will begin to learn and practice the GMAW (wire feed) welding method plate in the various positions required by the welding industry.15 Sessions runs Mon-Wed, Jan 26 - April 27
