ABOUT THE ARTIST -
Haida artist Git Kuyaa Kinsie Young saw her first brightly woven Ravenstail robe at the age of 9. Soon after, her parents gave her a weaving kit with materials and an instructional DVD by Cheryl Samuel, which helped her learn the basics. In the beginning, Kinsie and her mother sat down to study the materials together. Her goal is to share this technically complex and culturally intricate art form with her family members and communities, especially the next generation.
