Beginning sock classIn this beginner sock class we will take the mystery out of socks and go back to the simple basics.
These cuff down ankle socks will teach you all the basics and give you the confidence to start making socks for anyone!
January 11th, 10am to 12pm
January 25th, 10am to 12pm

What you will learn
What to choose for yarns and needles styles
Casting on and ribbing
Short row, twin stitch heel
Gauge and sizing, how to calculate
Decreasing toes
Kitchener stitch
Finishing
How to care for hand knit socks
Skill requirements
Cast on, knitting and purling, working with yarns smaller than dk weight.
Materials and tools
Pattern provided in class handout
One skein (sock yarn with nylon)
2.75mm - 9” circulars or dpns or 32” circulars.
One stitch marker and finishing tools
Yarn is to be purchased from Wool and Whimsy yarn shop. Other tools are also available through Wool and Whimsy.
