Have you been wanting to make that special baby quilt for an expectant mother? Or maybe a lap quilt for those chilly nights? This is the class you’ve been waiting for! This 4 part Beginning Quilting course will teach you the basic skills of quilt making. At the end of the course you will have a Double 4 Patch quilt in either a baby or lap size to enjoy or give as a gift.
Prerequisites: Basic sewing skills (you know how to thread your machine and make a straight stitch) and access to a sewing machine that you can bring to class. Ideally your machine will have a patchwork foot (1/4” measurement) and a walking foot.
You will also need tools for cutting your quilt pieces: cutting mat, rotary cutter, and ruler. If you do not already have these a kit will be available for purchase at the first class for $40.
Cost: $200 for all four classes. This includes all materials to make a complete quilt and a spool of coordinating thread.
Click on the “Ticket” link to register. Registration can also be done on site at The Artisan Hatchery.
Class will be limited to 6 students.
All classes will be on a Saturday from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm.
Dates: June 13, 20, 27 and July 11 (no class on Independence Day)
Bring your machine to class except for Class 1.
Each week you’ll also need to bring basic sewing tools with you:
• Scissors
• Straight Pins
• Seam Ripper
