About this Event

Maybe you've heard of the recent studies that indicate dance is a top fitness activity to improve mood & cognition... actually changing the structure of the brain for the better? If not, give it a quick search, and take note of all the other benefits mentioned as well.

Additionally, there is a growing body of academic research specifically related to belly dance (aka - Raqs Sharqi). One of those studies points to Raqs Sharqi as a dance that practitioners do for themselves... not for others as the stereotype goes; yet another study finds that the most significant personal gains that practitioners experience are increased social connections, increased self-confidence, and a reduction in stress.
