The Saugahatchee Beekeepers Association, in partnership with the Lee County Cooperative System and Claybird Bee Education Association [a 501(c)3 organization] will be holding its 18th Annual Beginner Beekeeper Course, beginning on Tuesday, January 07, 2025 at 6:00 PM in the Extension office main room. This course is designed for individuals possibly interested in becoming beekeepers and have little to no experience with honey bees. The course will run for nine consecutive Tuesday evenings with each session lasting until about 8:00 PM. The cost is $85.00, which is a family household price. Any extra textbooks, other than the one furnished, will be $15 each. Through this course you will have the opportunity to have your own beehive(s) and honey this summer. For more information, please contact Damon Wallace at [email protected], with something like "Honey bees" in the subject box. Preregistration is not required, but I would like to have a reasonable headcount to start. Cash or check.
