Beginning Acrylic Painting with Jen Shakti

Join desert painter Jen Shakti as she shares her 40 years of painting experience. In this class, you will learn everything you need to start painting with acrylics, including professional tips to boost your confidence as a beginner. We will discuss essential materials, such as different types of acrylic paints and brushes. You will also learn best practices for painting, including tools, intuitive color mixing, and brushstrokes to create a variety of textures. Over the course of the class, students will create four 9x12 paintings, one during each session.

This course includes four classes held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., starting January 11 and ending February 1, at the Hi-Desert Artists Gallery.

The event costs $100 through Eventbrite, plus a $20 materials fee paid to the teacher at the start of the course.

All students are required to bring an apron.
