About this Event
AT TISKET, A TASKET…. LET’S MAKE A HAND STITCHED BASKET!
This instructor-led 2 hour class will introduce you to the latest crafting fun of Slow Stitching, a meditative hand sewing practice that involves using bits and pieces of fabric, ribbon, lace, buttons and trims that are ideally upcycled or salvaged to create pieces of fabric art. It focuses on the joy of creating rather than a perfect outcome. It is an opportunity to slow down, to be creative, where you get to make something with your hands and just enjoy that process.
You will learn how to make a rope basket using scrap fabric and a simple cotton clothesline. We will provide all the necessary items that have been donated to the farm such as cording, needles, thread, fabric and broken jewelry. We’ll provide tea, and you will be able to mingle with other creative members of your community.
Join us for a fun evening to learn a new crafting skill or to reintroduce yourself to hand stitching.
