Beginners Salsa 101Hi,
Have you heard of Salsa? No, not the type you have with corn chips, but the fun type of dance.
Do want to give dancing ago, but not really sure where to start..
Well, let me introduce myself, I am Roanna, from Dance Inspired and I am here to teach you the basics of Salsa!
I am running two four-week beginner courses:
1. The Basics of Salsa.
2. How to Salsa with a Partner.
Course 1: The Basics of Salsa
This course starts from ground zero; no previous dance knowledge is needed. It will cover how to count to Salsa timing, the basic steps of Salsa, and an introduction to dancing together.
Course 2: How to Salsa with a Partner
This course will focus on partner dancing. We will cover how to lead and follow simple Salsa partner work sequences. The emphasis of this class is making you feel confident to social dance Salsa with a partner. During the class, we will rotate partners, so you don't need to bring a partner with you.
Toward the end of course 2, there will be a Dance Party (in Raglan) hosted in conjunction with Hamilton Salsa.
Each class is 45mins in length, with additional music played before the next class (Beginners Bachata) so you can practice :)
Time: Fridays - 6.15pm to 7pm
Please note, there is a one week gap between the courses.
Course 1: Fridays 7/2, 14/2, 21/2, and 27/2 (Thursday, due to prior hall booking).
Course 2: Fridays 14/3, 21/3, 28/3, 4/4.
Venue: Te Uku Hall. Parking on site.
Cost: $12 per person/class or $80 for both courses, e.g. 8 classes.
Payments can be made by bank transfer or cash.
Shoes: Please wear shoes that you can balance well in and that are not grippy. Please avoid black soled street shoes.
Ladies, No stilettoes or wedges.
