This course is suitable for both the absolute beginner and those wishing to revisit watercolour techniques. You do not need to have any prior knowledge or experience of painting or drawing.You will be guided through fundamental watercolour techniques such as watercolour washes, wet into wet, wet or dry, tone, colour mixing, lifting out and dry brush. The focus will be on skill building. The topics covered will be seasonal, still life and landscapes. You will have the opportunity to explore other artists approaches and by the end of the five weeks you will have a good understanding of the fundamentals of watercolour painting and the confidence to go on and develop your newly gained skills.
About the Tutor:
Julia got a Painting degree at Canterbury College of Art and then went onto gain a Master of Fine Arts at The University of Newcastle-Upon Tyne.
Julia has over 35 years of experience of teaching Painting and Drawing too both to adults and children. In her own practice drawing is an intrinsic part of her creative process and she enjoys using a variety of mediums in her artwork, her work has been described as both illustrative and playful.
