In this 6 week course you will learn the Māori art of raranga and weave flax. These introductory sessions are perfect for beginners and offer an opportunity to explore the rich history and traditions of this ancient craft.
You will learn to weave a variety of small containers and techniques that can build into the next level of raranga.
Learn old traditional methods that will give you an insight into the history of Māori culture. All flax & tools provided by tutor.
Tutor: Rangiputa Wallace
Dates: Wednesdays: 27 AUG & 3, 10, 17 24 SEP & 1 OCT 6
Time: 6pm - 8pm
Cost: $150 for the 6 weeks - all materials supplied.
