✨ Beginners Course in West Coast Swing – April 9–10 ✨
Curious about West Coast Swing? Join our two-evening beginners course and discover one of the most versatile and musical partner dances out there! This is a smooth and playful partner dance danced to many different styles of music—from pop and R&B to blues. It’s all about connection, musicality, and having fun on the dance floor. No previous dance experience required!

👩‍🏫 Instructors: Anya Vinichenko and Jon-Richard Sommernes
💃 Social dancing starts at 21:00 both evenings, and is included in the course price! You can also attend social at the event dancing also on saturday and sunday.

📚 What you’ll learn
This course covers the essentials of West Coast Swing in a compact format, similar to a full beginners course but taught over two evenings. We’ll focus on:
* The basic rhythm of the dance
* Connection between partners
* Fundamental patterns and turns
By the end of the course, you’ll be ready to join the social dance floor!
👟 What to bring
You only need:
* Comfortable everyday clothes
* Shoes with a soft, relatively thin sole that slide easily on the floor (not too sticky)

If you would like to join additional workshops during Arctic Westie Fest, you will need to purchase a full pass for the event.
However, participants who already have a full pass are also welcome to join the beginners course if they wish.
