Starting July 7th
This 6-week session is ideal for complete beginners or someone who really wants to learn more basics. Ever wanted to try your hand at the potter’s wheel? This immersive session is the perfect place to start. Designed for absolute beginners and those looking to rebuild their foundational skills, we provide a supportive, low-pressure environment to help you go from a raw lump of clay to a finished masterpiece.
What You’ll Learn
We’ll guide you through the entire life cycle of a ceramic piece, focusing on both the meditative process and the technical skills required to create:
Master the Fundamentals: Gain confidence in "wedging" (clay prep) and the all-important art of centering—the rhythmic foundation of all wheel work.
Shape Your Vision: Move beyond the basics as you learn to pull walls and shape simple forms.
Refine & Decorate: Explore "trimming" (shaping the bottom of your pots) and various surface decoration techniques to give your work a professional, unique touch.
The Finishing Touch: Wrap up the course by learning the art of glazing, ensuring your handcrafted pieces are both beautiful and food-safe.
Why Join This Class?
We don’t just focus on the pot; we focus on the experience. You’ll learn the "language of clay" in a space where it's okay to get messy and mistakes are just part of the art. By the end of the session, you’ll have a brand-new set of skills to brag about.
