BRAND NEW FOR 2026
Ideal for complete beginners, this handbuilding and wheel throwing taster session is your perfect introduction to the exciting world of pottery.
Join us for a fun two hours to explore the pinch and coil methods of handbuilding, followed by an attempt at throwing on the potters wheel. You will be guided through the session by our Studio Head, Chris, who will be on hand to provide practical support and answer any questions along the way.
If you have ever been curious about which style of pottery you'd enjoy the most, this is a fantastic chance to give both a try before committing to 1:1 lessons.
Handbuilding is an ancient craft dating back to at least 20,000BC, with earliest archeology findings dating around 29,000BC.
Pinch pots were some of the earliest vessels used by humans for storing and cooking food, and very little has changed in the way hand-built pottery is made and used today.
Moreover, wheel thrown pottery may seem like a modern invention, but earliest evidence of spinning clay dates back to circa 4500BC!
Immerse yourself in one of the most captivating art forms and try your hand at making a bowl or two just as we have done for thousands of years.
Price per oerson: Β£45
