Artist Biography:
My earliest memories of working with paper mâché began in a third-grade art class during my childhood in rural Wisconsin, sparking a lifelong passion for creative expression. I consider myself a self-taught folk artist, yet my creative journey has also
been shaped by formal studies in classical art history in Europe and undergraduate studies in art education, while at the University of Wisconsin. I have been designing whimsical folk art and teaching classes for over four decades; and like to think of my work as a reflection of my spiritual journey and appreciation for
the timeless beauty, perennial appeal and whimsical simplicity of folk art. My wife and I have made our home in South Jersey for the past twenty years.
