Come out for a fun evening of painting, sipping, and socializing with fellow witches and witchy-minded folks! This class is very beginner level, and it will be taught by my husband and 2 time winner of Hudson Valley Magazine's Best Artist, Storm Anderson! He'll give an overview of the materials and process, and then guide you step-by-step to a mystical and magical result. He'll be posting an example of the painting in the discussion area of this event page. I'll have your canvas, paint, brushes, etc here. You'll just need to bring your creative mind, smiles, laughter, and personal magic!
The sips will be both adult and non-alcohol options. Please do be responsible if choosing an adult version.
Yes, you can choose to Skype in for only $20. You'll be responsible for gathering the following supplies:
-11x14 Stretched Canvas
-Acrylic paints - Beginner Level paint is great for this. Michael's sells "Artist's Loft" which is their economy brand. 2oz tubes should be plenty for this project. Colors: Mars Black, Titanium White, and Deep Violet (or Violet or Purple if deep isn't available).
-3/4" Mop Brush
-Then, any Beginner brush set that has a variety of flats and rounds. Rounds will come to a sharper point. Many sets also include filberts (rounded top), chisels, and a fan brush. You can find a set like that for about $5 or so.
-Larger paper plate to act as your palette and mixing area
-Some type of circle template for your Moon. Since it'll be part of the primary focus, try to use something that's about 6-8" in diameter. This could be a paper plate, bowl, or even something you've cut out in advance.
-Rinse cup with water - something about the size of a coffee cup or slightly larger.
-Hair dryer
-Optional: Apron, covering for whatever table or surface you'll be working on, and of course, whatever beverage you'd like.
Storm will be teaching this class.
