Learn to play American Mahjong at Kimpton Marlowe Hotel in Cambridge! Introducing a two week beginner series at The Bambara Kitchen and Bar. Mahjong instructors Emily and Bev of The Canasta and Mahjong Connection will help you learn and improve your game and connect with other players each week!
Sip on a mahjong-themed cocktail or order from the mahjong inspired food menu, as part of Kimpton Marlowe Hotel's Mahjong and Mingle series (food and drink purchased separately).
The two week beginner series is perfect for brand-new players or anyone looking for a back to basics refresher. No prior experience is required—just bring your curiosity and get ready for a fun, social game!
Come solo and meet other players or bring your group! A full mahjong set-up will be provided during class, including all mahjong sets, instructional handouts, laminated cheat sheets, and NMJL cards available to borrow during class. Parking is complimentary for Mahjong Monday participants.

Beginner Mahjong Series (2 Weeks)
September 22nd and 29th 6:00-8:30pm
$175 (plus eventbrite fees)
Includes the full two-week lesson series and $20 food and beverage credit each class ($40 value). One ticket includes both sessions. Each week builds on the next.

Your Instructors:
We are Beverly and Emily, a mother-daughter duo and experienced Canasta and American Mah Jongg instructors. We’ve taught hundreds of students and are passionate about making these games accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Beverly is a retired teacher, principal, and special education administrator. Emily is a high school special education teacher.

Refunds
Refunds are allowed up until 7 days prior to the first class. Unfortunately we are not able to refund the cost of the eventbrite fee. If you are unable to attend within 7 days of the first class, you may have a friend take your place, or reach out to us. We are unable to transfer your ticket to a future class date.
