Have you always wanted to try a summer TREC? Have you been out competing at Level 1 and want to really hone your skills and learn where you are missing out on points? Or, do you just want to understand how to read a map and find new hacking routes?This weekend at Carr Farm Equestrian near Scarborough will be a really fun couple of days to discover a bit more about the sport of TREC (aka competitive hacking!).
Arrive and settle in on Friday, have a chat with fellow campers and make use of the XC field for a little gentle leg stretching after your journey if you'd like to.
On Saturday we'll do some obstacles practice using the XC field including ditches and water, a map training session and a short ride out using field edges and tracks to test what we've learned.
Once we're all safely back, the amazing Lucy Gittens BSc (Hons), MCSP will be available for physiotherapy appointments (additional cost) in the afternoon before she leads a Pilates class on Saturday evening. As a certified physio and APPI Pilates Instructor she is able to modify the class to suit absolutely anyone no matter how wonky or stiff they are!
After a busy day we'll have a well deserved glass of bubbles and a takeaway (included).
On Sunday we'll have another look at the obstacles as well as the MA (control of paces) portion of TREC, before finishing off with a fun, relaxed 'competition' using my obstacles and the XC course.
Priced at £230pp, you will need to camp either in your transport or bring a tent, and we will be corralling the horses within existing small paddocks - the perfect opportunity to see how your horse takes to the corral life!
