Morning Encaustic Beginner Class Session (09:00 – 12:30)Join us for a captivating journey into the ancient art of encaustic painting. In the morning session, you’ll embark on an exploration of heated encaustic medium, comprised of beeswax and damar resin, as you learn to create luminous artworks on birchwood panels.
What You’ll Learn:
In the morning session, you’ll explore the use of heated encaustic medium – made from
beeswax and damar resin – to create luminous artworks on birchwood panels.
You will use a blowtorch as heating / fusing device.
You will learn how to use Gamblin color pigments and integrate them into your encaustic
practice.
We will also experiment with texture to enrich depth and form.
Shellac Burn Class: Afternoon Session (13:00 – 16:00)
In the afternoon session, delve deeper into the realm of encaustic art with the mesmerizing technique of shellac burning. Learn to craft intricate weblike patterns atop your encaustic paintings, adding depth and dimension to your compositions.
