About this Event
Join Bumblebee Conservation trust Shrill carder bee project officer Tom Bucher-Flynn to get to know the bumblebees of Cardiff
At this session you will:
- become familiar with different species of bumblebee
- learn identifying features of bumblebees
- discover the BeeWalk methodolgy and how bumblebees are currently monitored
- have the opportunity to sign up as volunteer as a BeeWalk volunteer
BeeWalk is the Bumblebee Conservation Trusts standardised bumblebee-monitoring scheme active across the UK, recording the abundance of each bumblebee species seen between March and October. Volunteer BeeWalkers walk a fixed monitoring route (a transect) once a month between March and October inclusive, recording the abundance of each bumblebee species seen.You can find out more and sign up as a volunteer here: Home | BeeWalk Survey Scheme
