About this Event

Join Daniel Shaw and David O’Neill for a morning walk at Andrew Haydon Park!

For many species, fall migration is already underway. As summer water levels on the Ottawa River gradually recede, they expose mudflats rich with insects, worms, and other tasty morsels that attract hungry migrating shorebirds.

Andrew Haydon Park offers fantastic views of the river and its mudflats, along with sheltered ponds where we hope to spot a variety of ducks and shorebirds. The trees and shrubs around the park should also be busy with songbirds, giving us a chance to start brushing up on our "confusing fall warbler" identification skills!

While it's hard to believe summer is beginning to wind down, some of the year's most exciting birding is just getting started. Join us as we welcome the first waves of fall migration!✈️🦆
