Ever looked at the back of a sewing pattern envelope and felt like you were trying to translate a foreign language? You are absolutely not alone. Between the tiny charts, the cryptic abbreviations, and the confusing symbols on the tissue paper, simply starting a garment project is often the hardest part.
This workshop is designed to take the fear out of the process and give you the confidence to transition from "dreaming about making clothes" to actually cutting into your beautiful fabric!
Our instructor will start by walking everyone through a comprehensive "Pattern Anatomy 101" guide, breaking down both traditional commercial patterns (like McCall's or Butterick) and modern indie PDF patterns.
Bring your own pattern! For the second half of the class, the floor is yours. Bring 1 or 2 paper or PDF patterns you’ve been dying to make but have been too intimidated to start. We will look at them together as a group, answer your specific questions, and make sure you leave ready to start your project at home.
