A Panel Conversation on Mooring Technology to the Sensing Body
The relationship between body and technology is no longer speculative — it is already shaping how we sense, create, and move through the world. Yet this relationship remains fluid, complex, and deeply relational.
Before the Good Night brings together artists and practitioners working across choreography, moving image, spatial practice, and interdisciplinary performance to reflect on how embodied artistic practices are formed through constant interaction with the world around us.
Rather than approaching these questions through rigid theoretical frameworks, this conversation centres lived experience, sensory perception, and embodied knowledge. Together, we will explore how artistic practices are shaped through three key relationships: between practice and the natural world, between site and the work it holds, and between the artist and the industries they navigate.
The panel invites discussion around questions such as: How does technology extend or transform perception? What kinds of knowledge emerge from memory, cultural experience, and the sensing body? And what does it take — financially, physically, and emotionally — to sustain an independent artistic practice today?
This event offers a space for critical dialogue, reflection, and exchange among artists, researchers, and audiences interested in embodiment, technology, and contemporary creative practice.
