From the people that brought you 2024's "The Ringing Tree" comes the prequel "Before the Beginning", a surrealist sound walk through the center of our special wee town.
"Before the Beginning" is a prequel to last year's story "The Ringing Tree." It takes us back before the birth of our universe, before space and time itself, to a "Great Void" of eternal night, endless and infinite.
Nothing exists within this Void-nothing, that is, except for a miniature world contained within a single tear drop. Let us take you on a journey of sound into that miniature world before the beginning of time...
Created by Erika Grant and Gerard Crewdson, with the help of many others, and in collaboration with Urban Dream Brokerage, this is another deep listening sound walk for those of us feeling like we might need a few magical doorways to help us find our way through
Join us at the beginning of the tour at Te Aro Park on Dixon Street, and follow us as we map out the story of "Before the Beginning", bringing the city to life in a way you haven't quite seen before...
