Beetlejuice at Revival House PerthExperience Tim Burton's wildly imaginative 1988 supernatural comedy that proves death is just the beginning of the fun. When recently deceased couple Adam and Barbara Maitland find themselves trapped as ghosts in their own home, they discover that the afterlife comes with its own bizarre bureaucracy - and that their beloved house has been sold to the obnoxious Deetz family from New York City.
Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis bring earnest charm to the Maitlands, two small-town sweethearts whose attempts at haunting are embarrassingly ineffective. Winona Ryder shines as Lydia Deetz, the goth teenager who becomes the ghosts' unlikely ally, while Catherine O'Hara and Jeffrey Jones provide perfect comic villainy as her pretentious parents.
Burton's distinctive gothic sensibility transforms the afterlife into a surreal waiting room filled with bizarre civil servants and nightmarish creatures.
