Beethoven 200: Side by Side Celebration
About this Event
Join us for a special celebration marking the 200th anniversary of the death of Ludwig van Beethoven and continuing our long-standing tradition of bringing emerging and professional musicians together on stage.
The evening begins with a chamber music showcase featuring the remarkable young artists of the Royal Conservatory's Taylor Academy, whose talent and artistry have earned them recognition as some of Canada's most promising musicians.
In the second half, experience Beethoven's majestic Mass in C Major, performed by orchestra, chorus, and soloists under the direction of Kathleen Allan. This inspiring side-by-side performance brings together professional musicians alongside students from the University of Toronto Faculty of Music and The Glenn Gould School, creating a powerful musical collaboration that celebrates excellence, mentorship, and community.
A stirring tribute to Beethoven's enduring legacy and a testament to the future of classical music.
Please note that tickets at the door are $45.
