Beekeeping 102: Ins & Outs of Beekeeping
About this Event
In part two of this two-part Beginner Beekeeping series, the Ins & Outs of Beekeeping will cover everything you need to know to get your own beekeeping operation started! Beekeeping 101 is NOT a prerequisite for this workshop.
Led by Carmen of Feral Farms Beekeeping, this lecture-based workshop participants will cover everything you need to know to get started in beekeeping - from acquiring bees and equipment to choosing the right location for your apiary and protecting your hives from predators. Expect to leave with a general understanding of the beekeeping season in WNC and the realistic knowledge, work, and cost required to keep a honeybee colony happy and healthy throughout the year.
After completing Beekeeping 101 and/or 102, participants will be eligible to sign up for hands-on workshops with Feral Farms Beekeeping in Spring 2027!
Walk away with the foundation and knowledge to become a responsible steward of these small but mighty pollinator friends and a copy of the "Ins & Outs of Beekeeping" presentation.

To help us share these opportunities widely:
- Each participant may claim an Equitable Access seat once per quarter (every three months).
- These spots are first-come, first-served and limited by class size.
- If you've already used an equitable seat this quarter, we ask that you register at full price so others can benefit.
Please only claim these tickets if cost is truly a barrier for you — this helps ensure that those who need the support most can take part.
